For the month of June we visited the Rescue Mission in Trenton! The Rescue Mission supports the community through their shelter, food pantry, thrift store, Behavioral Health Center, New Direction Program, Vocational Development Team, and housing.
The Mission’s shelter offers a full range of free professional case management services including healthcare, behavioral health counseling, addiction treatment, and financial assistance. The money that is raised in their thrift store goes directly to funding their programs. The Mission’s Behavioral Health Center is a state licensed addiction treatment facility and their New Direction Program helps those individuals in their recovery. The Vocational Development Team assists in job readiness and in the application process to allow individuals to get back on their feet. The Mission also owns 5 houses and an apartment building, which can provide a home for 43 individuals or families!
