Keep Flossing!

Researchers at Harvard recently concluded that those with a history of gum disease have a higher risk of developing esophageal and gastric cancer. A history of periodontal disease was associated with a 43% and 53% increase risk of esophageal and gastric cancer respectively. More research has to be done in order to determine specific causes. However, the research supports the importance of oral microbiome in esophageal and gastric cancer.
